HISTORICAL MONUMENTS FROM VILLAGE CETEA

 'Virgin Birth of Christ' Orthodox Church from Cetea

In Cetea are two churches, one Catholic and one Orthodox, and a smaller building. The latter was once a small Orthodox Church of village (little church) and was probably built by Mihai Viteazul. After housed the village school, now houses the Village Museum Cetea.

 

Catholic church building is the oldest stone building was built around 1400 and was used by the local population Hungarian. Orthodox church dedicated to "Virgin Birth" was built between 1800-1811 (dedication 8 September). The most remarkable piece that houses is the altar table, rich decorated with vegetal decoration carved.

Obelisk, the First and Second World War, Cetea

The monument is obelisk type, and is located in the cemetery Orthodox Church of Cetea village. The obelisk was unveiled in 1971 to honor the memory of heroes village fallen in the two world wars.

 

Under this monument, in Heroes Day after celebration of Holy Mass is requiem for village heroes, then make their appeal to responding wives, children and grandchildren of those who gave their lives for the independence, integrity and dignity of the Roman people and of the church ancient.

 

The monument is made of cement, mosaic and marble, being raised through the efforts of the villagers. On the marble plaque on the facade obelisk are two inscriptions: 'Erected in honor of heroes who died for defending the homeland, 1914-1918, 1941-1945' and 'High by parents, spouses, children and siblings'.

Village Museum of Cetea

Cetea Village Museum hosts various exhibits from ancient times: traditional clothes, paintings and icons on glass and various tools. Typical for local national costumes is color composition in black and white.

 

Everything is beautiful and finely made and occasionally collection expands. We find here old craft tools, some of which are also used today.

 

In Cetea village, every household is distinguished by its authentic traditional objects: fabric and embroidery, pots, plates, jars of clay, plaiting items. Pride any resident citizen are popular clothes made of woven war and adorned with specific reasons. Each household has a story to them, and to discover it only needs to answer the challenge to see them.
