Galda de Jos is situated in the center of Transylvania. Land of Transylvania, and Ardeal as is known, is the largest historical and geographical region of Romania and probably the best known one. All over the Apuseni Mountains there are great national parks. In the center of Transylvania there are green hills and spectacular rivers. Most big cities are very western Europe like, and the infrastructure is generally good, making it easy for travelers. Although some people may only associate the name with tales of bloodthirsty vampires, it is the setting of Bram Stoker's novel 'Dracula'.
